Our fifth-anniversary party at Simon/LA on Tuesday, March 25th was truly a special occasion. And besides celebrating a milestone for Western Interiors & Design, the event also served as an unofficial kick-off for Westweek this year. Our publisher Jennifer Matthews flew in from New York, and we really enjoyed seeing so many of our friends and supporters together on a typically lovely Los Angeles evening, having a great time on Simon’s open-air patio lounge. Among the top designers and architects who dropped by: Kenneth Brown, Madeline Stuart, Suzanne Tucker (in from San Francisco), Ron Woodson and Jaime Rummerfield (looking as if they stepped from the pages of their feature in the new issue of Western Interiors!), David Dalton, Heidi Bonesteel, Philip Nimmo and Hemmy Ho, Gary Hutton (also down from San Francisco), Mark Cutler, Betsy Burnham, Richard Brustlin, David Weeks (in from New York for his stellar show at Ralph Pucci International), Stephen Shortridge and Barbara Callas (whose remarkable ocean-view project graced our very first cover in 2003!), Steve Hoedemaker (in from Seattle and featured in the new issue), Molly Wood, Kathryn Waltzer (whose work was showcased in our premier issue!), Wendy Owen (in from Sonoma), Ted Boerner (in from San Francisco), Kevin Kolanowski, friends from Stamps and Stamps, and others too glamorous to mention.
